Our seven-acre campus serves nearly 175 students from 6 months through 6th grade, and is filled with beautiful and spacious classrooms, playgrounds, and garden spaces that offer our students the opportunity to to work and play in a natural environment.

MSD is accredited by American Montessori Society (AMS) and AdvancEd, and was the first Montessori school in North Carolina to acquire our AMS accreditation.

Montessori School of Durham (NC) seeks a part-time Music teacher to nurture a love of music and a lifelong appreciation for the arts in our students grades Kindergarten through 6th . Guided by Montessori principles, the music teacher will teach the grammar of music and guide the students to develop their abilities for listening, singing, playing instruments, and performing . The ideal candidate will introduce students to a diverse world of music, including a wide range of genres, artists, traditions, and cultures. Experience with composing and recording music is a plus. The music teacher will support the classrooms in preparing for performances and will oversee the use of the performing arts center and equipment. Experience teaching music to elementary-aged children is required, and experience in a Montessori setting is greatly preferred.
