St. Leo Catholic School

Founded in 1953, St. Leo Catholic School is the oldest operating Catholic school in the Winston-Salem area and a proud recipient of the National Blue Ribbon School designation. Serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade, St. Leo offers a strong foundation in Catholic faith and values, paired with academic excellence and a commitment to the whole child.

At St. Leo, we foster a school culture rooted in caring, sharing, and serving others—instilling in students a sense of self-worth, responsibility, and purpose that extends beyond the classroom and into the broader community. Our families play an active role in the life of the school, participating in a wide range of activities that support and enrich the educational experience.

All students receive instruction in Religion, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English/Language Arts, and Health & Fitness. The curriculum is further enhanced through specialized programs in Technology, Music, Theater Arts, Information Literacy, Visual Arts, and Spanish, along with a dedicated Learning Support Program for students with identified learning needs.

St. Leo Catholic School (D02733-15) is fully accredited through Lumen Accreditation and is in good standing with The Catholic University of America, effective July 1, 2024, as part of the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte.
