Cannon School

Cannon School is a JrK through Grade 12 independent school located in the greater Charlotte area. In the twenty years that we have been at our present location, the physical campus has grown to include new facilities for performing arts, athletics, language labs and makerspaces. Cannon recently adopted a new strategic design with five commitments centered around community and belongingness; students; educators; wellness; and sustainability. In the teaching and learning process, we hold a philosophical commitment to autonomy, inquiry, and mastery among other habits known as Adaptive Expertise. Cannon is a strong and relational community, and we believe that taking care of others is as important as learning about self.

Cannon attracts over 1,000 students from Concord, Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, Mooresville, Charlotte, the University City area, Kannapolis, and Salisbury. Located on a 65-acre campus on Poplar Tent Road in Concord, Cannon’s 225 full-time faculty and staff members are committed to nurturing relationships at the heart of learning and engaging the learner in a journey of growth.
