Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving almost 600 students from age 2 to Grade 8 on two campuses. The Lower School, in West Palm Beach, serves ages 2 yrs. through 3rd Grade. The Upper School, located on the island of Palm Beach, serves 4th through 8th Grades. The Upper School is currently seeking a 4th Grade Teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. Applicants should enjoy working in a collaborative, student-centered environment and be skilled in providing differentiated instruction to promote student academic, social, and emotional growth.
In addition, a successful candidate will:
● Be motivated and enthusiastic, organized, and attentive to detail
● Possess excellent classroom management skills
● Be comfortable collaborating across departmental disciplines
● Teach Language Arts, Math and Florida Studies
● Advise students and communicates with families, including writing reports and leading conferences
● Possess in-depth knowledge of child development and progressive education ● Provide examples of innovative pedagogy to promote inquiry and learning in adolescents and evidence of capable writing
● Command a range of teaching methods to meet different learning needs ● Integrate technology into classroom teaching
● Be a self-starter, take initiative, have a sense of humor, and demonstrate strong listening and communication skills
● Be willing to contribute to school community in meaningful ways
● Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned
Selection Criteria:
● A bachelor’s degree in elementary education
● Masters degree preferred
● Minimum of 3 years experience as an elementary classroom teacher
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
