Duke School offers an exceptional project-based learning experience from preschool to eighth grade. Through inquiry and research, students are actively engaged in projects and topics that are relevant and meaningful to them. Early literacy, math, science, and social studies are designed to be learned in an interdisciplinary way in preschool and in kindergarten through both a workshop-based model and project work. Social-emotional learning and development, as well as the values of inclusion and diversity in our community, are hallmarks of the school. This constructivist educational environment enables students to forge their own learning paths.
Early Childhood consists of Preschool and Kindergarten. Our Preschool (mixed ages 3 & 4) has four classrooms, and our Kindergarten has three cohorts. Two highly qualified teachers work collaboratively with 16-17 students in each class.
