The Weber School: 9-12 School Counselor Position (2026-2027)

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Weber School, a private Jewish community high school, seeks an experienced School Counselor to provide comprehensive social, emotional, and academic support to high school students. The School Counselor will deliver direct counseling services, collaborate with faculty and families, and contribute to school-wide wellness initiatives under the supervision of the Director of Counseling. Clinical supervision by a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) will be provided.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide short-term individual counseling and make referrals to external mental health providers as needed.

  • Support students experiencing social, emotional, or academic challenges that interfere with learning.

  • Collaborate with faculty, grade-level deans, learning specialists, and families to promote student well-being.

  • Participate in crisis response and intervention as part of the student support team.

  • Contribute to school-wide preventive and educational programming, including SEL initiatives and expansion of Peer Leadership Program and student orientation. 

  • Able to participate with other school staff at overnight or after-school events

  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all confidentiality and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.

  • Current licensure or certification in counseling or related discipline.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant counseling experience; school or clinical experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and outside professionals.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information: Clinical supervision by an LCSW will be provided. Associate-level clinicians (e.g. LMSW) who are pursuing full licensure are encouraged to apply.
