Middle/Upper School English Teacher
Brookwood School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school in Thomasville, Georgia, which offers a superior educational opportunity to qualified students. Founded in 1970, Brookwood enrolls approximately 500 students, drawing students from four counties in Southwest Georgia and two counties in North Florida. We have an opening for a talented and innovative faculty member to teach middle and high school English courses. This position will begin for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Position Responsibilities:
Teach Middle and Upper School English and Language Arts Classes.
Ability to teach AP courses.
Position may include student life responsibilities, such as club sponsorship.
Continuance of school history of producing strong student writers.
Attributes Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree in English. Masters is preferred, but not required.
Full time teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
Expertise in technology. Familiarity with Apple products is preferred but not required.
Experience with educational online platforms and software (Blackbaud and Google Workspace).
Energetic, creative, and self-motivated.
Possessing a collaborative spirit and a growth mindset.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in working with students 6th-12th grade.
Ability to successfully interface with students, colleagues, parents, and administrators.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Openness and amenability to living in the small-town environment of Thomasville.
