Chabad Academy, a private Jewish school in Sandy Springs, is seeking passionate, creative, and nurturing teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidates will have experience providing instruction to students, strong interpersonal skills, and experience teaching at either an elementary or middle school level.
The teacher will be responsible for understanding and implementing the curriculum to meet standards and benchmarks. The teacher will be responsible for enhancing the academic success of students by providing small group and individual instruction, facilitating active learning and engaging lessons, and vertically aligning to ensure that students are prepared for their next level of learning at the end of the school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Manage the classroom to foster respect and learning by teaching expectations and modeling respect.
Behave professionally by maintaining a standard of professional conduct.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Prepare materials and classroom for class activities.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Assign and grade classwork and homework.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.
Prepare for assigned classes (lesson plans) following Chabad Academy's learning practices upon request of the administration.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Serve as a positive role model in and out of the classroom for all students.
Attend all school calendar events, faculty meetings, orientation, teacher workdays, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.
