About the Role: 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team and provide an engaging and nurturing learning environment for young students. The ideal candidate will foster intellectual and social development while promoting a love for lifelong learning. Our Elementary School Teachers are educational innovators committed to providing high-quality instruction in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Science.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instruction & Lesson Planning:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Use various teaching methods, tools, and technologies to engage students and accommodate diverse learning styles.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and respect.
  • Maintain effective classroom behavior management strategies to promote student learning.

Student Support:

  • Monitor and assess students' academic progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs, including working with students requiring additional support or enrichment.

Collaboration:

  • Work with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance the educational experience for all students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school events.

Communication:

  • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular updates, conferences, and reports.
  • Encourage parental involvement in the learning process.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and state educational regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Exhibits a growth mindset
  • Seeks to improve through self-reflection, constructive feedback and/or professional development activities
  • Knowledge and/or experience with a variety of pedagogical approaches (Orton-Gillingham experience and certification a plus.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office as well as other relevant educational platforms

Education & Other Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Certification/License: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of two years as a lead teacher in a school environment

Physical Requirements:  The employee must be able to:

  • Communicate clearly
  • Bend, crouch, walk through the school, and move from standing to sitting on the floor and back.
  • Use hands and fingers to reach, grab, write, handle, feel & control objects
  • See, talk and hear
  • Lift and carry objects including children up to 40 lbs.
  • Lightly clean and maintain equipment in the classroom
  • Work in a busy and occasionally noisy environment

About the Role:

  •  FLSA: Exempt, Salaried, Benefits-Eligible
  • Workdays: Monday through Friday
  • Reports To: Elementary School Principal
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience
