Cannon School seeks an energetic, creative educator to teach Spanish in the Lower School beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. Successful candidates will demonstrate the personal qualities needed to work flexibly and adaptably with young learners, creating joyful, developmentally appropriate experiences that build early language proficiency. The Lower School Spanish Teacher is a member of the Lower School faculty and reports to the Head of Lower School.
The learning environment balances structure with autonomy, enabling the teacher to design experiences grounded in trust, belonging, and strong relationships with students. Movement, storytelling, music, play, games, and authentic cultural exploration become pathways for connection as well as language learning. The ideal candidate creates a warm classroom community where students feel they belong, feel safe taking risks, develop confidence, and build foundational communication skills in Spanish. Beyond classroom instruction, the teacher collaborates closely with the Lower School co‑curricular team and the JrK–12 World Language team, supports students’ social and emotional development, and partners thoughtfully with families.
