Stratford Academy, a PK-12 co-educational independent school in Macon, GA, is seeking applicants for the full-time, 10-month position of Science faculty to begin on August 1, 2026.
Stratford Academy seeks a math teacher for middle school dedicated to educating children. The teacher will be expected to create a welcoming classroom environment where students can learn and grow. We are looking for teachers who will set an excellent example and provide lessons that meet the needs of all students. The teacher will support the mission of Stratford Academy by creating instructional lessons that challenge students to reach their full potential. Responsibilities include managing a classroom, monitoring each student’s progress, and providing extra mentorship as needed.
Stratford Academy is known for having a tradition of academic excellence. The Middle School (6th – 8th grade) teachers will build upon our strong heritage by incorporating pedagogical practices that increase student engagement during learning.
Middle School teachers will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Teach 4-5 sections of relevant class(es)
Create engaging lessons for students
Provide highly effective instruction and quality assessments
Provide a developmentally appropriate, safe, efficient, and effective learning environment for students
For student safety, participate in a duty schedule that includes break, lunch, and carpool
Talk to parents about their child’s progress
Advise students as part of the Middle School Advisory Program
Contribute to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring
Maintain current lesson plans and up-to-date scope and sequences, in collaboration with department
Meet and work with other teachers, department chair, and Division Head
Attend faculty, department, and committee meetings both during and after school hours
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area
A love for teaching and learning
Strong organizational and time-management skills
