We're seeking a passionate, creative educator to join our Lower School language team as a Spanish Teacher. This is your opportunity to inspire young learners' love of language and culture, to build connections across our diverse community, and to help students see the world through the lens of another language. You'll introduce children to Spanish through engaging, multi-modal instruction that meets the developmental needs of elementary learners. You'll foster cultural awareness, celebrate diversity, and help students build foundational language skills through songs, stories, games, and conversation - all while creating a classroom culture where every student belongs.

What You'll Do
Teach Spanish with Creativity and Joy
- Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for Lower School students
- Execute a purposeful curriculum using multi-modal instruction and varied assessments
- Reach diverse learners - academically, culturally, racially, religiously - with responsive teaching
- Make language learning joyful, interactive, and culturally rich
Cultivate a Classroom Where Every Student Belongs
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom culture where students feel safe, seen, and valued
- Support student voice, compassion for others, and a whole-child approach
- Balance care and compassion with challenge and accountability
- Celebrate cultural diversity and foster global awareness
Collaborate with Your Language Team
- Work closely with fellow language teachers to plan curriculum and share best practices
- Follow through on collaborative plans and contribute to team goals
- Participate in department and grade-level meetings
- Engage in ongoing professional development during the school year and summer
Partner with Families
- Build positive, trusting relationships with Lovett families
- Communicate student progress clearly through report cards, conferences, and regular touchpoint
- Provide informative parent communication as needed
- Foster strong home-school partnerships that support each child's growth
Provide Feedback and Monitor Progress
- Give students effective, timely feedback that supports their language development
- Continually monitor student progress and adjust instruction to support growth
- Use a variety of assessments to understand student learning
- Celebrate growth and encourage persistence
