Middle School Reading/English Teacher

Job Description

Noble Academy seeks an enthusiastic and experienced reading, English, or special education/EC teacher for a full-time, 10-month position that will begin August 2026. The main priority of this teacher will be to teach small group reading/English classes of 6th -  8th grade students, although teaching assignments may vary slightly from year to year. Responsibilities will also include serving as an advisor and/or supervising student activities. Noble Academy is an independent, college prep 2-12 school in Greensboro, NC that serves students with learning disabilities and ADHD.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education, Special Education/EC Certification, English, Literacy, or a related field and current teaching license are required. Experience teaching middle school and experience with students with learning differences is preferred. 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • a passion for helping students understand how they learn, become better self advocates, improve their executive functioning skills, and work toward becoming independent readers and writers

  • successfully created and implemented differentiated lesson plans to meet a variety of academic needs; including remediation of reading/language deficiencies within the grade level curriculum

  • good organization, time management, and planning skills that contribute to the ability to communicate and collaborate with others

  • good relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues

  • strong classroom management skills

  • technology experience in utilizing online management systems for assignments and grades (such as Google Classroom)

  • ability to be flexible and positive

  • experience teaching multiple subjects preferred

  • a positive attitude and eagerness to bring energy and enthusiasm to the workplace
