We're looking for a passionate Middle School French and Spanish Teacher who sees every classroom moment as an opportunity to spark curiosity, build confidence, and connect students to cultures beyond their own. As our next Middle School French and Spanish Teacher, you'll bring language to life for students who are just beginning to find their voice in the world. This role teaches French I and II alongside an Introduction to World Languages/Spanish course, and it's as rewarding as it is dynamic.

What You'll Do 

  • Design and teach meaningful language experiences - developing curriculum, syllabi, and lessons grounded in communicative language theory that meet students where they are and challenge them to grow
  • Build real relationships - serving as an advisor to a group of students, becoming a trusted adult in their school journey
  • Collaborate deeply - participating in department, grade-level, and faculty meetings with colleagues who are genuinely invested in each other's success
  • Show up for the whole school - from tutorials to community events, Lovett teachers are visible, engaged, and present beyond the classroom
  • Differentiate with purpose - using technology and varied instructional approaches to reach every learner, at every level, in every lesson
  • Model the community you teach - upholding Lovett's behavioral standards and contributing to a culture of respect, inclusion, and joy

Who You Are 

  • Meaningful experience teaching French and Spanish at the middle school level
  • A communicative, student-centered approach to language instruction
  • Warmth, humor, and the ability to build trust with 11–14 year olds (no small feat)
  • Strong communication skills - with students, parents, and colleagues alike
  • The flexibility and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, people-first environment
