The Heritage School seeks an Upper School Director to begin July 2026.The Upper School Director serves as the academic and cultural leader of the Upper School and is responsible for guiding an experienced and dedicated faculty, overseeing the student experience, and ensuring that the mission of The Heritage School—mind, body, spirit, and camaraderie—remains central to all aspects of the Upper School program. This role plays a critical part in setting the tone of the Upper School community, fostering a positive and engaged school culture, and supporting students as they prepare for college and life beyond.
The Upper School Director’s primary responsibilities include:
· Leading, supporting, and evaluating Upper School faculty
· Overseeing all aspects of student life, including discipline, culture, and daily operations
· Partnering with faculty, staff, students, and families to ensure a positive, mission‑aligned Upper School experience
· Modeling and promoting a collaborative, communicative, and student‑centered environment
Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate a proven record of successful, transformative leadership as well as experience building strong teams and supporting faculty growth. Five or more years of teaching experience in an Upper School setting is preferred, and leadership experience is required. Experience in an independent school environment is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, initiative‑taking leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all members of the school community. A commitment to transparency, professionalism, integrity, and positivity is essential. A graduate degree is required.
