The Walker School is seeking an engaging and dynamic Middle School Social Studies Teacher to inspire students in grades 6–8. This role focuses on developing globally minded students through meaningful, experiential learning in history, civics, geography, and related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Teach 5 sections of middle school social studies (grades 6–8)
Deliver engaging, project-based and experiential instruction
Serve as an Advisor for a small group of students
Provide daily student support during scheduled help sessions
Collaborate with grade-level teams and faculty
Lead and chaperone field trips, including one multi-day trip annually
Participate in school life through extracurriculars, coaching, or advising
Attend parent conferences, school events, and admissions activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
Experience teaching middle school social studies
Ability to teach across disciplines, including world history, U.S. history, government, economics, and geography
Strong instructional technology integration skills
Experience with project-based learning preferred
