Position Description
This position is primarily responsible for al financial operations of the school including
accounting, budgeting, cash management, payrol and audit functions. This position
also has responsibility for human resources, technology and vendor relations. This
position is an ambassador for our core values.
Primary Responsibilities
● Development and monitoring of the annual operating budget for Board approval
● Timely financial reporting to the Head of School, Finance Committee and School
Board
● Responsible for management of banking, investment and vendor relationships
● Human Resources oversight of policies and procedures
● Coordination and colaboration with technology services provider and point
person for faculty and staff technology devices and purchasing/management of
student device inventory
● Supervision of payroll and employee benefits functions
● Coordination of purchasing goods and services
● Collaborate with and advise the Head of School, Admissions and Finance
committee for annual tuition increase projection to board and serve on annual
financial aid committee
● Ensure monthly budget updates are provided to al budget owners
● Income and Tuition Revenue planning and oversight with FACTS management
● Ensure that financial record keeping is in accordance with generally accepted
accounting principles
● Responsible for internal control policies to safeguard assets and monitor
compliance
● Implementation and administration of tuition policies
● Coordinate with FACTS Grant and Aid, our third-party vendor in the calculation
and allocation of financial aid, and scholarship funds to school families
● Assist in providing written and verbal communication to families as it pertains to the
tuition model
● Coordination of annual external financial audit
● Insurance liaison for health insurance benefit offerings, choose beneficial plans as
it pertains to employee health, life, and dental/vision insurance plans on an annual
basis/open enrolment
● Assist in communication of school benefit policies to employees at annual renewal
● Risk Management coordination of workers compensation claims, STD, LTD, student
accident, auto accident, general liability and Tuition Refund Plan claims, and
policy oversight
● Management of Business Office team and ensuring that service standards are met
● Generate and update of strategic financial plan in collaboration with the Head of
School and Board
● Work on an as-needed basis with the parish administrator on any school/parish
related expenses
● Serves on SAIS re-accreditation committees.
● Special projects on an as-needed basis
● Performs various non-instructional duties, such as attendance, lunch and car duty, etc.
● Maintain confidentiality concerning student, teacher, and parent information.
● Support and promote the mission and vision of St. Peter’s Episcopal School.
o Models the school’s mission of creating an educational environment that nurtures love of learning, joy of service and lively faith.
o Models and helps students develop St. Peter’s core values (resilience, engagement, growth-mindset, ambassador, inclusiveness)
● Evening and weekend hours, occasionally, as needed.
● Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Master’s and/or CPA preferred
● Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience
● Microsoft Excel-5 years’ experience preferred
● Must possess sensitivity to and maintain confidential information
● Proficient in technology
● Excelent interpersonal communication ski ls, customer service oriented
● Excelent oral and written communication ski ls
● Excelent technology ski ls and advanced MS Word and Excel.
● Ability to work wel with students, faculty, staff, board members, and parents of
students
