Evangelical Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, dynamic educator to serve as an Upper Elementary Spanish Teacher for grades 4–6. This individual will be passionate about teaching Spanish through Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI), fostering natural language development through listening, reading, and meaningful communication.
The ideal candidate will cultivate a love for language learning, inspire cultural curiosity, and create a classroom environment where students feel confident engaging with Spanish. This teacher will intentionally integrate a Christian worldview, helping students see language and culture as part of God’s diverse and creative world.
Teach Spanish to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students using Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI), emphasizing comprehension, listening, and reading as the foundation for language acquisition
Design engaging, interactive lessons that promote meaningful communication and cultural understanding
Foster a classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, confidence, and joy in language learning
Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support growth
Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs and readiness levels
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment of curriculum and share best practices in world language instruction
Integrate cultural elements, traditions, and real-world connections to broaden students’ global awareness
Organize and support cultural activities or events that bring the Spanish-speaking world to life
Model Christ-like character in all interactions with students, faculty, and families
Intentionally integrate a biblical worldview into classroom instruction and culture
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging both academic and personal growth
Promote a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and appreciation for others
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Experience:
Experience teaching Spanish, preferably at the elementary or middle school level
Familiarity with or willingness to implement Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI)
A growing, personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to ECS’s mission
Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills
A genuine love for working with upper elementary students and fostering a positive classroom community
