The Steward School seeks an enthusiastic and committed Lower School (LS) Technology Facilitator to act as a pedagogical consultant and instructional coach for integration of technology in the classroom for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is designed for an educator who understands the developmental needs of young learners and can bridge the gap between core curriculum and meaningful, balanced technology use. This is a ten-month, full-time, fully benefited faculty position reporting to the Director of Lower School.
● Brainstorm and develop creative projects that integrate technology into core subjects such as language arts, math, science, and social studies.
● Team teach with LS faculty to model the effective use of technology tools and classroom management in a digital environment.
● Serve as the primary "first line of support" for LS teachers and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues immediately to minimize instructional downtime.
● Assist with technology support during standardized testing.
● Research and implement specialized tools and apps specifically designed to support early childhood developmental milestones and 21st-century skills.
● Develop and lead age-appropriate lessons for young students on data privacy, security, digital citizenship, and online safety (COPPA/FERPA compliance).
● Develop and lead age-appropriate lessons for young students on computational thinking and robotics.
● Guide LS faculty in the ethical exploration of AI tools for productivity and personalized learning.
● Manage and support digital portfolio systems (like SeeSaw or Google Workspace) to help LS students document their learning progress throughout the year.
● Maintain a central repository of LS resources, ensuring teachers have easy access to vetted, age-appropriate technology materials and lesson ideas.
● Assist with creating content for the school website or hosting sessions during "Back to School Night" to help parents understand the LS technology scope and sequence.
● Sponsor LS-specific extracurricular activities that extend beyond the classroom curriculum.
● Create and share a series of "Tech Tips" or video tutorials focused on tools commonly used in Lower School, such as SeeSaw, Book Creator, Blackbaud or interactive flat panels.
● Bachelor’s degree is required.
● Preferred candidate will have elementary classroom instruction experience with a deep understanding of classroom management and self-regulation for younger students.
● Technological proficiency in the classroom, including iPads, Seesaw, Google Educational apps, and interactive flat panels.
● Familiarity with early-childhood STEM tools such as ScratchJr or other age-appropriate robotics.
● Strong communication, collaboration, and consultative skills to work effectively with adults in the building.
● Growth mindset and willingness to pursue ongoing professional development.
● An understanding of and passion for equity and inclusion.
● The ability to design curriculum, instruction, and assessment for a diverse community of learners.
