Description: Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is seeking a part-time Middle School Technology/STEM teacher for grades 6–8. The Middle School Technology/STEM program is designed to help students grow as creative thinkers, collaborative problem-solvers, and confident innovators. Through hands-on, project-based learning experiences, students apply STEM concepts to real-world challenges while developing curiosity, resilience, technical skills, and an innovative mindset.

Requirements:

● Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Mt. Bethel Christian Academy and full agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Statements.

● Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.

● Minimum of two years of teaching experience preferred.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

● Demonstrate innovation and enthusiasm in instructional approaches and embrace the independent school model of mentoring, advising, and supporting students outside the classroom.

● Understand and implement a variety of instructional strategies to support student engagement, learning, and understanding.

● Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to troubleshoot and problem-solve alongside students.

● Possess strong classroom management and relationship-building skills that foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.

● Integrate Biblical worldview naturally throughout instruction and student interactions.

● Have experience with or interest in maker-based and project-based learning.

● Be comfortable using technology platforms including Google Workspace, online learning systems, and classroom technology tools.

Responsibilities:

● Teach 6th–8th grade STEM courses that include elements of technology, design, engineering, innovation, robotics, and applied problem-solving.

● Plan and facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences aligned to existing curriculum maps.

● Collaborate regularly with the STEM Department and Middle School faculty to support curriculum development, program goals, and student growth.

● Provide instruction in the safe and appropriate use of hand and power tools, materials, equipment, technology platforms, and other resources.

● Encourage creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, persistence, and reflection through classroom instruction and projects.

● Help students connect STEM concepts to real-world careers and applications in fields such as engineering, biomedical science, environmental science, architecture, robotics, computer science, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.

● Create a classroom culture that values curiosity, problem-solving, responsible risk-taking, and continuous improvement.

● Assess student performance and progress regularly through classwork, projects, design documentation, presentations, and other formative and summative measures.

● Maintain clear and professional communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administration in alignment with the Matthew 18 principle.
