Position Description 

Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) seeks exceptional candidates for the position of Upper School Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  We offer a highly-motivated, collaborative learning environment that supports teacher professional growth, nurtures student-teacher relationships, and develops creative and critical thinking skills in every student.  This position will teach 5 sections of multiple levels of mathematics, as well as mentor an advisee group of Upper School students of diverse interests and backgrounds.

  • Continuously assess students’ progress and use data to inform instructional decisions

  • Provide students with consistent and ongoing feedback 

  • Communicate consistently and openly with families to build an effective school-home partnership

  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional development 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the school’s policies, procedures, and practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in content area

  • Demonstrated ability to apply mathematical knowledge and instructional skills to design lessons that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, accuracy, and student confidence

  • Demonstrate strong instructional technology skills that effectively integrate age-appropriate digital tools and platforms to enhance learning and engagement

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing

  • Excellent collaboration skills; tact in dealing with parents, faculty, staff and students

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards

  • Possess energy, empathy, and flexibility

  • Commitment to modeling the mission and values of Christ Church Episcopal School and its Episcopal Identity

  • Desire to engage in the life and culture of the school, including community events, after-school activities, and programs such as clubs, performing groups, or athletic teams

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Mathematics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
